Ecowas Bank for Investment and Development Jobs and Career Opportunities

ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) was setup by the The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to enhance the financial resources of the ECOWAS Fund. In order to reinforce its human resource capacity, the ECOWAS BANK FOR INVESTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT seeks to recruit qualified persons to fill the following vacancies.
Post N° 1:: AGRICULTURAL ENGINEER or AGRO-ECONOMIST (Grade P4 - 1) The successful candidate will assist in implementing the policy of the Institution in the financing of rural development and natural resources within the framework of a project cycle Qualification, experience and skills • Master's Degree or its equivalent in Agronomy or Agro-economics; • At least 7 years professional experience in project analysis, monitoring and appraisal; • Knowledge of Finance/Management; • Familiarity with public investment procedures; • Familiarity with public service procedures; • Good analytical mind, sense of organization and ability to work as a member of a team; • Must be physically fit so as to be able to participate in field missions.
Post N° 2 :: MACRO ECONOMIST (Grade P4-1) The successful candidate will assist in implementing the Bank's research and strategic policy. This will involve designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and assessing the economic and strategic studies of the Bank, the intervention and assistance strategies of the Bank in favour of Member StatesMaster's Degree or its equivalent in Economics; • At least 7 years professional experience in studies and analysis of policies on development and the study of the economic conditions of ECOWAS; • Sound knowledge in the area of strategic planning, macro economics, econometrics, international trade and finance, etc; • Have good analytical mind, sense of organization and ability to work as member of a team; • Must be physically fit so as to be able to participate in field missions.
Post N° 3 :: FINANCIAL ANALYST (Grade P3-1 ) The successful candidate will assist in implementing the project financing policy of the Institution within the framework of project cycle• Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in Accounts, Finance, Management or the equivalent; • At least 5 years professional experience in the analysis, monitoring and financial appraisal of projects; • Ability to analyse and interpret financial documents and prepare financial projections; • Good analytical mind, sense of organization and ability to work as member of a team; • Must be physically fit so as to be able to participate in field missions.
Post N° 4:: RISK ANALYST (Grade P4-1) The successful candidate will assist in risk management under the supervision of the Head of the Department. The task will involve identifying, assessing, controlling and monitoring risks that the Bank may be exposed to within the framework of its activities. Master's Degree or MBA or its equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Banking or its equivalent; • At least 7 years professional experience in the analysis and management of banking risks; • Ability to identify, analyse risks and prepare financial projections; • Ability to calculate and control risk ratios and procedures; • Good analytical mind, sense of organization and ability to work as member of a team; • Must be physically fit so as to be able to participate in field missions.
Post N° 5 :: HEAD OF DIVISION, TREASURY (Grade P5-1 ) The successful candidate will, under the supervision of the Director of the Department, assist in keeping accurate and transparent records of the financial assets of the Bank, ensure compliance with the regulations on placement, reconcile the accounts of the Bank and keep basic information relating to cash-flow. • Master's Degree Management or its equivalent in Accounts, Finance and; • At least 7 years professional experience, preferably in the area of treasury management or financial risk management; • Familiarity with the dynamics of capital markets, financial instruments, foreign exchange operations and its attendant risks; • Ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports, as well as specialized working notes on financial issues; • Ability to supervise and lead a team of professionals and support staff in a multicultural environment.
Post N° 6:: HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER (Grade P4-1) The successful candidate will, under the Head of the Human Resources Division, assist in implementing the human resources management policy of the Bank in area of staff training and management of social issues.• Bachelor's Degree, MBA or its equivalent in Human Resources Management, Social Service Law or Management; • At least 7 years professional experience in similar post; • Familiarity will all the tools and techniques in human resources management; • Ability to identify needs and and adapting them to suit solutions proposed; • Good analytical mind, sense of organization and be able to work as member of a team; • Good sense of judgement and initiative; • Ability to establish and nurture good working relations with colleagues and the rest of personnel from different countries and cultural background

 be not more than 40 years old;
 be computer literate (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
 be fluent in French and/or English and/or Portuguese, and proficient in one of the other two languages
